331 steps..
From my home to the sea in Nice... But it's worth it. Especially, when you walk down, but take the bus to get back.
OK, don't worry, we don't do it every day to go to the beach. Passable is in Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, not in Nice.
By the way, half down the steps, there used to be a Palace: "Palais Maeterlinck". I would like to mention it here, because it offered one of the best lok over NIce. I went there for the fist time for a drink last year only, and got fond of it. One of my best souvenir of Nice last year Unfortunately, it has closed this year. It's a pitty. What are they gonna do? Sell it to more Russian people?
Photo: Down the steps...
THe Riviera is invaded by the Russian. To such an extend, thqt Saint-Jean is becoming more and more Russian. Whiwh threatens the independance of this little city that was nice, secure, famlilian;, and above all authentical. But the Russians have come (Poutine among others), and now, there's no one in the streets anymore, the Russians are partying inside, if not anything else.. They give money to the municipality to get what they want (can we call that corruption?).They pay 500 Millions Euros for a house. It' is no more what it used to be. We discussed that quite a lot, but there is a real threat on Saint-Jean, that it could be overtaken by the Russians. Which would mean that the French people could be, in the future, no more welcome in Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, France... Ironical, isn't it??
