A day in Ulm

Hi eveyone!

Here I am again :-) A lot too much to do over the past two weeks... Anyway, hope to be a lil' more available this week; A lot to share with you. Bu be patient, I'll tell wou more within the week..

As for today, I needed to go a bit outta Munich. Almost eveyone was away.. So, with the remaining survivors, we decided to go to Ulm, about 1h45 away from Munich. A nice city at the border between Bavaria and Baden Wurttemberg. A city I did not know, ans I was happy to discover.
The symbol of Ulm is a bird. The legend says that people of Ulm were struggling when they wanted to build the cathedral, since the wooden beams to build it were too wide and did not go through the doors of the city. But a bird suddenly came with a twig, and went through the doors with the twig in length,  not in width. This gave the ideas o the inhabitants of Ulm, who could then build the cathedral. They were savec by a bird..
It's quite small, and provided that shops are closed on Sunday, one day was enough to see eveyrthing. The only regret was that it was much to cold.. But it's almost winter I guess.

What was worth seeing?
- the Fischerviertel (fishers' block) : a cute old area with old houses, and canals. Cute, really.
-  the cathedral: with the 160m high arrow, it is said to be the highest in the worls. In the same styla as the one in Stasbourg, it is a very big but unfortunately dark cathedral. We did not go up.. 760 steps!
- the pedestrian area, cute, small, with lots of shops

And of course, the Christmas Market who was even better as the one in Munich. It was in a closed area, quite concentrand, and with a huge variety of  traditional and hand made products. I really enjoyed the atmosphear that, despite the coldness, was still cosy.

Quite a nice time in Ulm. Not too much will to go back to work :)
