Financial crisis

Publié le par TinkerDel

I will not write a financial analysis about the fall of Lehman Brothers. I could not.
Alan Greenspan himself sait "he had never seen such a crisis. this happens only once every 50 years, maybe even in a century". And I have also read that the crisis should go on until 2011
This should mean that we are experiencing the same crisis as in 1929? BUt the images we have of 1929 are of depsair, people queuying in the banks to have their money back... And, in 2008? what does that change in our daily life? In 2008, it seems we hardly see the difference. Fuel is more expensive, maybe bread and pasta also. But that's all I feel. As were the Stock Exchange totally out of the economy. Or is it because I am lucky enough not to be touched by it? Are people gonna loose their capital they had invested in the Stovk Exhange?

Anyway, I am thinking of all my friends in finance, who had been hired at Lehmans, hoping they will be able to keep their jobs. And for all the others in finance too. I guess it's gonna be a tough time. Anyhow, this was not a good year to enter the jobmarket...

I have always thought that Finance must be at the service of the Economy, not the contrary, which is in fact what happened.Finance was trying o make money out of nothing with the false reassurnace of ever more complicated mathematical models.
