Iceland: the new victim of the financial crisis

The daily newspaper "Le Monde" reported today that Iceland was threatened with bankruptcy.

Inflation, two banks nationalized, a country asking for financial help. While Iceland was considered a very wealthy country. Meanwhile, the euro is collapsing, and oil prices as well, now around $90 while they went up to $150 a month ago. All the stock exchanges worldwide are going down, even in Japan yesterday. 

Where is it going to stop? Are we all going to be bankrupt? 
And since a crisis is always profitable to some, who is gonna profit from it?
Times are far away, when people were all shocked by Karviel's case. Now, the whole world is endangered. And capitalism as well. All that is a bit frightening, isn't it? 

And in the meantime, Delphine is trying to get a job.  One may say that I have chosen well the period for that.

It sure is a difficult tilme for stock exchanges and banks around the world.On the other hand, as Jean-Claude Trichet said yesterday, we should not fall into the trap "of excessive pessimism". Many small and medium businesses are reporting satisfactory level of activity and profit. On the other hand difficult times are generally good for the entertainment and cultural activities. People want to be distracted from their daily worries. So this could help.Kisses
