La dolce vità

Where can you drink the best coffees? In Italy.. So what would you do if you are in Nice, and want to drink a real, good tasting coffee?  You would go to Italy. This is what we did. We drove to Vintimille, and had a coffee in our traditional caffé. Isn' t it awfully posh, when you think of it? Drive all the way to Italy, just for a coffee.. Yep, but that's what la dolce vità implies.. And trust me, nowhere else can you find a so good coffee for so cheap.. I personnally took a "caffè freddo" (understand cold coffee), which is made of coffee, ice, and probably sugar in "cassonade". It tasted amazingly good, like caramel. Starbucks will never win market share in Italy, for sure! After which we went to the supermarket to buy real Italian ham, finely sliced, ground coffee, and pasta.. And, of course, alcohol, which is still cheaper that in France.
As for Vintimille, the first town in Italy after the border, it has definitely improved. From a kind of dirty town, with loads of french tourists, sometimes dirty town, attracting vendors selling fake Vuitton bags, it has become a quiet little town, without any Italan guy showing off. And it has become much cleaner..
How about the italian?? Well, I have to admitt that we did not meet too nay of them, since Vintimille still counts so many French tourists.. wut does not matter, we have them everyday in saint-jean, as well as Russian people, too...
