More advantages of Munich - ski

For the first time since I have arrived there, I could test one of the greatest advantages of Munich, i.e. it being close to the mountains. In summer, this enables you doing amazing one-day trips to the lakes, but in winter, of course, that also means being able to go skiing for one day in the week end.
This is exactly what I did today. We went to Garmisch Partenkirchen with the special ski-express train that brings you from Munich's central station to the starting point of the telecabin (literally 50m away) in 1h25min. Let me tell you what an amazing feeling it was to be there, on top of the mountains, enjoying a nice hot chocolate, and just telling yourself that it is a perfectly normal sunday, no holidays. For a girl from Paris like me, ski is closely linked to holidays, since you need several days if you want to go skiing. But in Munich, it is fabulous to be able to go and take some frash air, and be back at 7 p.m. in your flat. Wow!
The only inconvenient being having to get up far too early (5.50 a.m. in my case), which is kind of hard on a Sunday.
Otherwise, it was a perfect day I enjoyed with my friends, laughing skiing, enjoying a bright blue and sunny sky.
But so tiring!! (Can't tell whether I'm gonna be able to get up tomorrow!)
Anyway, the location of Munich has once again proved to be superb.. An d I'm really beginning enjoying skiing, and without fear :-)
Let's get ready for more of those nice and sporty days!!
