On October, 23th 1958, strange little blue creatures first appeared in "Le Journal de Spirou", coming right out the mind of the Belgian cartoonist Peyo. The smurfs (schtroumpfs) were born. With (I wish there not to translate the names) Schtroumpfette, Grand Schtroumpf, Schtroumpf Grognon, Schtroumpf à Lunettes, Schtroumpf patissier, Schtroumpf farceur, Schtroumpf Timide, etc.. and the mean but simple Gargamel and its cats Azrael. 50 years of stories. 50 years of Gargamel not finding the Schtroumpf's village.. And it is still the same pleasure to read the out of time stories. A bit like Asterix, indeed. 

So, I schtroumpf all the best to the Schtroumpfs!

It is a very nice picture you have found for the 50th anniversary of the Schtroumfs. This comics has really an out of time character, it never seems outdated , like the schtroumps in fact.
