Dirndl time
Two weeks to go befor the opening of the world famous "Oktoberfest". 3 weeks of beer drinking, more beer drinking, bretzel eating, on the benches standing (standing on the table: forbidden) and dancing, bavarian music, etc.. 1 million people concentrated in Munich, and more particularly in this quite little area called Thereienswiese, where the 8 giant tents, one for each brewery, and the funfair are built.
And, if yu want to join the Oktoberfest, you have to wear as a real BAvarian people. That is, for guys, the traditional Ledehose, with country like shirt and braces. ANd socks, and shoes. One tip: Lederhosen muss not be washed. Ever.. So don't buy them second hand.. ;-)
And, for the girl, the Dirndl.. Traditional dress, with very feminine shirt, and the apron.. It is definitely sexier that what you may think, since it's a push up clothes. Really.. :-) Finally, I will be able to wear the one I bought quite some time ago..
So let me tell you that 2 weeks before the opening, Trachtl shops are mushrooming everywhere. At every corner, you discover a new DIrndl sale. It's quite funny to watch how the Bavarian are proud of their heritage.
Can't wait to see what the Oktoberfest is really like :- )
Although I doubt we will be able to get in a tent, we have not booked in advance.. Wait and see!!
