Food shopping in Munich

Publié le par Delfine

You may think that it is easy to find anything in Germany. Trust me, it is not.
As a little French girl, I expect to find the minimum of vital basic food in the shops. Like quiches, Grenadine, thousands of yogourths sorts, nice crusty bread, Franch apple pies, fresh fruit compots, fresh fish, wine, etc.. The minimum so as to say :-)

But it is not at all. You have the most incredible range of porc products, but apart from that, choice is very scarce.. German chains like Lidl, Real, Rewe, Tengelman, only have one or 2 choices for every products. Or no choice at all. They only have few references in the shops. Thus, they ensure competitive prices.. But at what price for us, little greedy consumers?

ANd on top of that, they all close at 19h, 20h, if you're lucky... So as far as you're working on German times, it's not an issue, you're out at 6p.m... But if you are working the French way, it is always a challenge to shop! And don't expect to shop on Sundays.. Everything's closed! You'd better forsee your needs..

Well, not every countries have Tescos.. Open 24h a day, 3 product lines, crazy tiny prices... I really miss that :-)
When are you coming to Germany??
